About

Here is a little about me:

I’m the leader of an independent ministry for college age young adults (basically 18-25 year olds) in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.  That group meets at the home of my wife and I every Tuesday evening  If you want more information you can email me at tim@theupperroomcommunity.com.   Feel free to stop by for a visit.

I’m a lawyer.   I graduated from the Northwestern University School of Law.  After three years of working as a litigator in big Chicago law firms, I left to start my own private practice.  I now do a little of everything, from real estate transactions to wills to corporate matters to litigation.

I’m a teacher.   I teach criminal justice and writing classes through a branch of the University of Phoenix.  I enjoy it thoroughly.  It’s my favorite part of my work.

I’m a follower of Jesus Christ.  It is the most important part of my life, and I hope it impacts every other aspect of the way I live my life.  Being a follower of Jesus isn’t just about believing the right things, and it isn’t just about what goes on at  church on Sunday or at our college group on Tuesday.  It should have an effect on everything I do and on the way I look at life.

This is my personal blog.  I will probably talk more about spiritual and ministry things than about some of the other aspects of my life, but I’m sure those other things will come up because they are also part of who I am.  Because this is my personal blog, it is designed as a place for my personal thoughts and opinions.  These thoughts and opinions don’t necessarily reflect the opinions of any particular organization or church.  Additionally, I’ve been known to change my mind, so my opinions are subject to change.
